The LAst Episodes of the Legion of Superheroes aired on Saturday. Though to many it does not seem like it, now does it? The last episode ends on a cliffhanger and it seems as if it were supposed to be for another season, but the thing is, the WB shut the project down. Why? I'm not really sure.
"From one of the longest running and most loved comics ever, “Legion of Super Heroes” arrived on the TV scene to elated enthusiasm from all its longtime fans.
Not only is the show a hit with people who have been reading the comics since their beginning, it has also struck a major fanbase of both adults and children whose sole experience of the Legion comes with the show.
But after only 2 seasons, the show has been cancelled for reasons unclear. It has only scratched the surface of its potential -- there is still so much for it to draw from the rich legends of the Legion, so much to explore within its vibrant characters and plots.
The cancellation came as a shock and incredible disappointment to the show’s fans. Why are we being deprived of such an amazing show after just 2 seasons of 13 episodes?
While it’s fairly obvious that the show is being taken off air because of the fall of Kids' WB! -- why not just relocate it? “Legion of Super Heroes” already airs on Cartoon Network UK -- why not in the US as well? Or it could be transferred to 4Kids Entertainment, who are taking over Kids' WB!'s timeslot and who have already stated that they may be acquiring shows previously aired on Kids' WB!.
The show deserves the chance to become as successful and loved as its predecessors: Justice League/ JLU; The Batman; Teen Titans; the Superman and Batman animated series; Batman Beyond; and Static Shock, all of which enjoyed airtime on Cartoon Network before, alongside other hit superhero shows such as Ben 10, Fantastic Four and X-Men: Evolution.
It is a disgrace that a show with such amazing animation, funny dialogue and memorable characters should be taken down before it has even gotten started: especially since shows starring DC characters normally run several tremendously popular seasons."
This is gotten from a petition out on the Web that I would encourage you all to sign. If you lot have not seen the Series I suggest you either buy the volumes from Amazon.com or look for some episodes on Youtube.
Thank you all for reading and be sure to sign up on the petition
